The Bank of England raised interest rates to 5.25% on Thursday 3rd August 2023, that’s now the 14th consecutive month that rates have risen. Ahead of the monetary policy decision, Fiducia Co-Owner and Chartered Financial Planner Susie Laws was asked to make several appearances on the BBC.

First up was an appearance on BBC 5Live’s radio program with Nicky Campbell. The debate throughout the show heard the audience answering the question ‘Are interest rate rises good for you?’.

Susie participated throughout, providing insights to listeners and displaying her knowledge of personal and business finance. You can listen to Susie briefly below or catch the whole show here.

Susie also answered who may benefit from an interest rate rise too.

Later in the day, Susie was asked to appear on the BBC News Channel show ‘Your Questions Answered’. The show was in direct response to the Bank of England’s decision at 12.15pm.

You can watch Susie and hear her answer several questions relating to the interest rates rises below.

At a time when interest rates are increasing and everyone is trying to understand how that might effect them, it’s great to have the BBC ask for our very own Susie Laws to make appearances to help the public.
