Developments in Dedham – August 2023
We hope this message finds you well. It’s been some time since our last update, so we wanted to provide an overview of the key developments and activities happening at Fiducia.
In alignment with our mission to be a disruptive, growth-oriented company making a difference for clients and our local community, we have made great progress on multiple fronts.
We are pleased to welcome three new team members – (from left to right) Loren Fuller, Mel Law, and Jamie Payne.
Loren and Mel join our Client Services team, while Jamie is part of our Trainee Financial Adviser Programme. We are excited to have them on board and look forward to seeing them flourish at Fiducia.
Giving back through community service and charity support remains a priority to us as a company.
Over the past year, we have partnered with the Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation (TBYCF) for various fundraising events including our Charity Challenge, which was held at the end of June. A total of 9 local companies entered teams to participate, with Ensors taking the top prize.
Together we raised over £1,700. Added to the total of our Charity Quiz in 2022, we have helped raise over £6,000 for TBYCF. A fantastic achievement which could not have been achieved without the support of our professional networks. Thank you!
Thank you to everyone for your support at our Charity Challenge!
June also featured our first annual Charity Football Tournament, this event benefited a cause close to Fiducia employees hearts.
Fiducia employee Kara Freeman has been dedicated to fundraising for her friend, Electra’s, treatment through several challenges like a skydive, half marathons and fun mud runs. As a company we decided to support Kara in her efforts through an event.
Our football event, won by Ellison’s Solicitors raised over £2,200 for Electra. For more information about Electra’s cause please visit Electra’s GoFundMe page here. We applaud Kara for her selfless efforts.
Here’s a picture of Fiducia football fanatic Gordon Kearney handing over the prize to Ellisons.
Additional recent charitable activities include sponsorship of the Falcon Bowling Club and providing new kit to local football club Needham Market Phoenix Youth FC.
Internally, we have been busy upgrading our website content and collateral, like our Corporate Brochure. All of our helpful guides can be found here.
Please let us know if, after reading one of our guides, you need any additional information.
Bragging moment alert – We’re proud to share that Susie Laws, Laura King, Sarah Hunter and Liz Barry have been nominated for Professional Advisers: Women in Finance Awards 2023 in recognition of their outstanding contributions and leadership. Congratulations and good luck to all from everyone at Fiducia.
Speaking of Susie (it’s not often we give an update and not mention her), on Thursday 3rd August as the Bank of England prepared to give its latest decision on interest rate rises, Susie found herself busy with media work once again. Susie made appearances on BBC 5Live radio and on the BBC News Channel show ‘Your Questions Answered’. You can read more and watch/listen to Susie here. From the entire team at Fiducia, well done Susie.
As we look ahead, we are preparing to host a Touch Rugby Tournament and our annual Charity Quiz Night later this year benefiting our new Charity of the Year, Lighthouse Woman’s Aid.
Lighthouse is a Suffolk based charity that supports women, young people and children who are affected by domestic abuse. They offer refuge for women, young people and children who are fleeing an abusive situation. We look forward to working with the charity over the next 12 months. On receiving the news, Lighthouse Business Co-Ordinator Deb Johnson said
We are thrilled your charity committee has chosen our cause to support for the next twelve months. We look forward to working with you and can’t wait to get started!
As a company, we welcome any local charity suggestions or causes you may have that we can potentially assist or participate in events for. Please do mention any local causes you care for to a member of our team, our Charity Committee would love to hear from you.
In closing, and like a famous comedian once said ‘just like that’, our update comes to an end.
Please remember we are always available if you need any financial guidance or know of someone who would benefit from speaking with us. We are here to help our community thrive in any way we can.
Until next time,
Your Friends at Fiducia
