Joining the Scrum – Fiducia Sponsors Colchester Rugby Club

We’re extremely pleased to announce we have sponsored our local amateur sports club, Colchester Rugby Club (CRFC).

Following the club’s move to their brand new, state of the art and purpose-built facilities at Raven Park, we were provided the opportunity to become a sponsor of the club. The new facilities have the use of two AGP pitches, seven grass pitches and boasts a clubhouse containing eight changing rooms – each with integral facilities and three function rooms.

Originally formed back in 1925, the club now has five senior sides – the 1^st XV playing at level 6 in London North. The club also provide training and matches to over 600 Mini & Youth players (U6 to Colts) every Sunday. CRFC also have a budding women’s team and host Touch Rugby every week for all ages and stages for fitness and fun.

The 1^st XV missed out on the opportunity for promotion in the 2019-20 season due to the disruption COVID-19 brought to the sport, however, they are now preparing themselves for another shot at promotion when the new season begins in September.

CRFC are at the heart of our local community in Colchester and each year they hold two main events. In the spring they organise a Community Day in aid of local charities. In November they hold a spectacular annual fireworks evening. Hopefully with the COVID-19 restrictions being removed, these events will be able to go ahead, and people can visit their fantastic new facilities.

Speaking about their sponsors in a recent article with The Blindside, Club President Maggie Whiteman said;

“We are very fortunate to be supported by so many local businesses whose sponsorship is invaluable and they have been an integral part in our move, helping to finance important aspects of the Club such as TV screens, electronic scoreboard, storage equipment, kit and office furniture.”

It’s an exciting time for Colchester Rugby Club and we very much look forward to supporting the teams from the side lines…or on the enormous clubhouse balcony that runs pretty much the length of the pitch (see below).
