As another eventful year comes to a close, we at Fiducia Wealth Management want to wish all our clients and professional connections warm tidings this festive season.

It’s been a difficult year for many, aided by rising inflation and subsequently, interest rate rises from BofE. At Fiducia, like our peers, we are not immune to these increases. However, our growth journey has continued throughout 2023 and we are pleased to report it’s been a successful year.

The latest recruit to join Fiducia is Chris Adams. Chris joined the Adviser team in October 2023.

Having worked successfully in financial services for over 20 years, Chris is a Chartered Financial Planner. To learn more about Chris click here.

We’re pleased Chris chose to join our growing team of Advisers and we look forward to seeing him excel at Fiducia.

As a company we are keen supporters of local charities and later this month the Colchester Santa Sleigh will be doing it’s rounds in the local area. Organised by the Colchester Round Table 367, there were many routes in need of sponsorship. Our Charity Committee, led by Senior Financial Adviser Rob Wood, have chosen to sponsor the West Bergholt route – in aid of The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation. As previous Fiducia charity partners, we’re pleased to be supporting an amazing cause.

In a last-minute attempt to further help our local community before Christmas, Laura King has also arranged a collection at Fiducia of both cash and toys to donate to Essex’s Community Christmas Giving Appeal. Laura is taking collections from members of the team and will be making the donation after Friday 15th December. Well done Laura, a great effort for a great cause.

In November we hosted our annual charity quiz. The event was our first in benefit of our new charity partner – Lighthouse Women’s Aid. A huge thank you to all 20 teams that participated and to those who donated raffle prizes for the event. Lots of fun was had by all, the quiz masters of the night were ‘You can’t handle the truth’ – a team from Kersey’s Solicitors.

Together we raised close to £4,000. Thank you to Debbie and Mel who attended the event on behalf of Lighthouse WA. We look forward to working closer with you in the future. Please note, Lighthouse WA offer Domestic Abuse Training for professionals and organisations. They will happily visit your office to provide training in the workplace, if this is of interest, please do contact Debbie via the Lighthouse website here

2024 is set to see us continue our charity fundraising efforts. With our Charity Challenge, Charity Football Tournament, Charity Touch Rugby event (yes, we’re thinking about it) and our Charity Quiz all set to be announced soon. There’s even talk of Susie Laws running the Ipswich Half Marathon next year…good luck Susie!

One date we can give you now is for our Charity Football Tournament. The event will take place at Colchester Power League on Tuesday 28th May 2024 from 3pm to 6pm. If you’d like to register your interest, please contact Matt Lovell on [email protected]

Since our last update, James Crisell and Matt Lovell visited Colchester United Football Club to deliver a presentation to their Under 18 scholars. The duo delivered an engaging talk covering personal finance for sports people.

Both James and Matt have played football for a majority of their lives, they too have been through academy set ups, making them the perfect people to help young footballers make better financial decisions in the future.

Well done to James & Matt…you might just about see them in the background of the photo.

So now we move on to the people who matter the most to us, our staff.

As a company we are extremely proud of the effort our staff have put in over the past 12 months to ensure we continue to deliver an outstanding service to clients. As a result of the team’s effort, we received notification in November of our corporate Chartered Financial Planners status being renewed.

We couldn’t maintain our levels of service without the input from all of Team Fiducia.

Well done and thank you to you all, from left to right:

Top row: Chris Adams, Liz Barry, Cheryl Bourne, Jamie Payne, Sarah West, Matt Lovell, Lynsie Hale, Gordon Kearney, Susie Laws

Under the stewardship of Gordon Kearney & Susie Laws, the company continues to make giant strides along our growth journey, let’s hope the trend continues next year.

Looking back at 2023, we are proud to have supported impactful charity fundraising efforts of those within our network alongside growth on the business front as we continue helping clients achieve financial confidence.

We are thankful to our clients for their continued business and humbled by the support we are shown by our friends in business.

We are all looking forward to 2024 and continuing to do what we do best – Financial Planning for People.

As we all take a breath this Christmas, let’s be thankful for the good fortune to spend quality time with family and friends during the holidays. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2024!

We look forward to supporting your financial confidence in the New Year.

Warm wishes,

Team Fiducia
