As the long nights set in and the cold mornings welcome us all, Autumn arrives and pretty soon the leaves will begin to fall from the trees, if they haven’t done so already. Here at Fiducia, despite the seasonal changes, our growth journey continues with new people joining and much more.

As F. Scott Fitzgerald once said “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”

With a raft of changes hitting the UK over the past couple of weeks, namely the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the UK now has a new monarch in King Charles III. Our condolences remain with The Royal Family, and we send our best wishes to our new King.

At the beginning of August our team welcomed a young man, called Zac, from the Royal Grammar School of Colchester on work-experience. Liz Barry (Practise Manager) arranged for Zac to spend time with several members of the Fiducia Team during his visit and was highly impressed by his willingness to learn.

Zac gave us some positive feedback on his time spent at Fiducia by saying;

’What a great group a people you are, and it really helped me to have the different perspectives!’

Well done Liz and the whole team for making Zac feel welcomed.

As July came to a close our Charity committee, led by Senor Financial Adviser Rob Wood, selected their choice for our Charity of the Year. If you haven’t already seen our news release, The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation is the charity we will be supporting over the next 12 months. You can learn more about the charity here.

Unfortunately, the first event we attempted to run on behalf of the Charity had to be postponed due to some rather dreadful weather. As an outdoors event, our Charity Challenge would have been a complete wash out. Fear not though, as we will be rescheduling the event to a future date. Let’s hope for some better, drier, weather next time!

In a wave of exciting news for everyone here at Fiducia, in the past two months there has been the arrival of two babies and a wedding for different members of the team.

First up Ella Matthews from our Client Services team, and her partner Stuart, welcomed their new son Liam into the world.

This was quickly followed by Chartered Financial Adviser Jack Walmsley and his partner Aimee celebrating the arrival of their daughter Hallie.

A huge Fiducia congratulations to both Ella, Jack and their partners on the arrival of their little ones and we wish them health and happiness in the future.

With the baby arrivals covered, anyone visiting our offices will have, at some point, met Executive Assistant and Client Services Administrator – Louise Hiller.

Louise and her partner Simon married each other in the beautiful setting of Puglia, Italy in September.

Congratulations Louise and Simon, we wish you a long and happy life together.

In September, Gordon and Susie along with Senior Client Services Administrator Cheryl, were joined by Jolyon Berry and Rob Ashworth from TSP Legal and Howard Reuben from HD Consultants to a Colchester Rugby FC match.

On a sunny day, the group enjoyed a rugby lunch together and before, during and after the match, the refreshments offered by the bar.

Colchester emerged victorious on the day and continue to prove themselves worthy of playing in the higher division, following last season’s promotion.

A great day was had by all, thank you to Jolyon, Rob and Howard for coming along.

We’ve said before how lucky we are to have a group of great individuals working collectively to deliver for our clients. Over the past month Liz Barry has gone further, quite literally, to deliver for others.

Taking on a mammoth target of walking 30 miles in September for Dementia, Liz walked an incredible 36 miles and raised some much-needed funds for charity in the process. The team were impressed with Liz’s first walk, walking 15 miles is impressive alone, however, walking in the shape of a dolphin…now that’s only something Liz could do.

Well done Liz, a fantastic achievement, we are all very proud of you.

Ok, so we mentioned our growth plans are continuing, and to that end we are extremely pleased to welcome new recruit Mel Law to our Client Services team. At the beginning of October, Kelly Stribling will also join up with the Client Services team. We are sure both Mel and Kelly will fit in well with the rest of the team and look forward to seeing them thrive in the future with us.

At the end of September our Co-Owner, Managing Director and Financial Adviser, Gordon Kearney, received the news he has met the criteria to be listed as a Top Rated Financial Adviser which will be distributed nationally in The Times in March 2023.

The Guide is the biggest consumer-facing campaign of its kind and sets out to help build public trust in financial advice. This is important at a time when, fueled by ongoing economic uncertainty, consumers are spending more time than ever researching advisers. Well done Gordon on achieving a 4.9 out of 5 rating and receiving excellent reviews from happy clients.

Now time for something to look forward to!

We are excited to announce our next confirmed event will be a Charity Quiz Night.

Being held again at the impressive home ground of Colchester Rugby Football Club – Raven’s Park, on Thursday 17th November 6pm-9.30pm.

If you would like to come along and support us by entering a team or joining another team individually, please contact us for more details.

As the third quarter draws to a close, we’d like to thank every member of the Fiducia team for their continued efforts in delivering outstanding work for our clients. As the long cold nights set in and a Halloween fever takes hold in early October, we wish you all the very best in the coming months.

If there’s anything the team here at Fiducia can do to help you with your personal finances, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
