Across the financial advice profession, there’s been heated discussion online about whether firms should publish their fees on their websites. At Fiducia, we don’t believe there is an argument here and we will always make our fee structure clear and transparent, updating you on any changes.
Across the financial advice profession, early withdrawal or ‘exit fees’ are just some of the charges which clients have been surprised with in recent months and they remain a source of concern for many of those seeking financial advice. As widely reported in the press, one large firm’s explanation of a dubious charge status as ‘not-an-exit-fee’ became important again recently after the Financial Times reported that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is considering widening its ban on exit fees to include ‘the largest wealth managers and pension companies’.
At Fiducia, we have never and will never charge early withdrawal or exit fees and our clients will always know any chargeable work costs before engaging with us.
While some, including us, may argue whether the advice profession should move in the direction of publishing fees online, the main problem is not competition between firms, nor that clients want to pay increasingly less for the. Instead, it’s the disconnect between the public’s understanding of advice before they step through the door and their appreciation of it when they engage with an adviser.
The solution is education, information and publicity.
Financial education and knowledge are key principles by which we work, and we are always pushing towards better awareness.
You can learn more about our upfront costs by visiting the website and discussing the fees at the time of your initial meeting, prior to engaging any chargeable work: https://www.fiduciawealth.co.uk/about/financial-advisor-fees/
Trusted, transparent and honest advice will always be our hallmark and our pricing follows the same rule.
